01Who processes your data
Waaldé Impact, an international Study, Research, Advisory, Consultation and Training firm based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, is responsible for the data collected on this site.
This processing is governed by Burkina Faso Law No. 001-2021/AN of 30 March 2021 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, under the supervision of the Commission de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CIL), the national data protection authority.
For any question about your data, write to waaldeimpact@gmail.com, or by post to the firm's office: Secteur 22, section EW, lot 21, parcelle 23, Ouagadougou.

- Placement pre-test
- Name, email, optional phone, answers, score and level obtained.
- Guidance quiz

- Account and learner area
- Email, encrypted password, first name, surname, phone, WhatsApp, city and country, and, if you provide it, the day and month of your birthday.
- Online assistant
- The conversation, the language, and a technical fingerprint of your IP address, transformed so that it cannot be traced back. It is only used to limit abuse. If you choose to leave your contact details with the assistant so that we can get back to you, your email and phone number are also recorded.
- Emails sent
- The recipient address and delivery status, to know whether a message was sent.
03Why we use them
- Process your enrolment request, contact you and organise your participation
- Issue your certificate and allow a third party to verify it from its number
- Give you access to your learner area and course materials
- Answer your messages, quotation requests and job applications
- Send you your pre-test result, the syllabus you requested or the quiz recommendations
- Tell you about our programmes and news, if you gave us your email for that purpose
- Wish you a happy birthday with a short message, based on the day set in your area or, failing that, the date of birth given when registering. Every message lets you opt out
- Letting you know when registration opens for a course, if you asked us to
- Improve our programmes and prevent abuse of the site
04Our legal grounds
Each use of your data relies on one of the following grounds:
- Your request
- Processing your enrolment, running your learner area, issuing your certificate, answering your messages, quote requests and applications: this processing is necessary to act on what you ask of us.
- Your consent
- Course news, waiting lists, birthday wishes, contact details left with the assistant, audience measurement cookies. You may withdraw it at any time, without affecting what was done before.
- Our legitimate interest
- Site security, prevention of abuse and automated submissions, verification of certificate authenticity by third parties.
- Our legal obligations
- Keeping accounting records and responding to requests from authorised public bodies.
05What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We run no targeted advertising and use no advertising trackers.
- We collect no banking data: no payment is taken on this site.
- We make no automated decision with legal effects: a pre-test or quiz result is indicative, and every enrolment is reviewed by a person.
06Who has access
Within the firm, only those who need it have access: the teaching and administrative team, according to defined roles. We also use technical providers acting on our behalf:
- Supabase
- Hosting of the database and of the files you attach, and account management.
- Resend
- Sending the site's emails: confirmations, pre-test results, information campaigns.
- Anthropic
- The artificial intelligence model behind the online assistant. Conversation messages are sent to it.
- Website host
- Making the site available online. Its identity is given in the terms of use.
07Hosting outside Burkina Faso
Our technical providers run servers located outside Burkina Faso, in particular in the United States. Your data may therefore be hosted and processed there.
These transfers are governed by contracts with each provider, which undertakes to keep the data secure and confidential and to use it only on our behalf. They are subject to the formalities required by Law No. 001-2021/AN with the CIL.
08How long we keep them
- Enrolment request with no follow-up
- One year after the request, then deleted, including attachments.
- Training participant
- During the programme, then ten years for the training file and proof of the certificate issued.
- Issued certificate
- Kept indefinitely so that an employer can still verify it.
- Learner area account
- As long as the account exists. Deleted on request.
- Contact message or quotation request
- Three years after the last exchange.
- Job application
- Two years, unless you ask for deletion.
- Email left to receive our news
- Until you unsubscribe, possible from every email.
- Course waiting list
- Until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any email, or on request.
- Assistant conversation
- One year.
09How we protect them
- Exchanges with the site are encrypted (HTTPS).
- Passwords are never stored in plain text.
- Documents you attach are kept in private storage: only the firm can open them, through temporary links valid for a few minutes.
- Access to administration data is restricted to authorised accounts, according to their role.
- If a data breach is likely to put you at risk, we will inform you and the CIL as soon as possible.
10Your rights
Under Law No. 001-2021/AN, you may request access to your data, its correction, erasure or portability, and object to its use on legitimate grounds. You may object without giving any reason to receiving our news. You may also withdraw any consent at any time, and set instructions for what happens to your data after your death.
Write to us using the details below. We answer within a reasonable time, normally within a month. Proof of identity may be requested where the request concerns sensitive data, to avoid disclosing it to someone else.
Some data cannot be deleted immediately where a legal or accounting obligation requires us to keep it. We tell you clearly when that is the case.
If, after contacting us, you believe your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with Burkina Faso's Commission de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CIL): www.cil.bf.
11Cookies
The site only uses cookies strictly necessary for it to work: they keep your session when you are signed in to the learner area, and remember display preferences such as light or dark theme.
No advertising cookie or analytics tool is installed. That is why the site does not ask you for cookie consent.
12Minors
The programmes are intended for adults. Enrolling a minor requires the request and consent of their legal guardian, which the firm checks before any confirmation.
13Changes to this policy
This policy may change, in particular if a new service is added to the site. The applicable version is the one published on this page, with its update date shown at the top.
